Building Skills, Growing Confidence

I'm excited to share some great news about our current initiative to improve the literacy and numeracy skills of our team members in New Zealand, particularly within our Pacifika community. Late last year, we partnered with Aspire2 Workplace Communication, a specialist training provider, to develop a tailored programme for our cleaning and security teams. This initiative focuses on enhancing confidence, communication skills, and literacy, helping our team members become more comfortable with workplace documents and interactions.

The impact has been inspiring! We've already witnessed considerable improvement among our staff in Auckland. Team members are engaging more confidently, supporting each other, and even taking on training responsibilities with greater clarity and patience. One participant mentioned a newfound ability to train new colleagues more effectively, offering clearer instructions and guidance. Another shared, "I used to keep to myself, but now I feel more confident talking to others."

As we look forward to the second half of the programme, we're excited about what's next—enhancing understanding of workplace documents, building digital skills, and advancing financial literacy. The enthusiasm and camaraderie in the group, described by their tutor as a “wonderful start to the week,” have been absolutely contagious.

We’re eagerly anticipating the graduation of our first class on April 14th, and the continued growth and development it will signify for our team.

We are very proud of the results as we continue to invest in and empower our amazing team members.
